The Baby Lock Compensating Foot adjusts to fabric thickness variations, ensuring flawless hems on Triple, Wide, or Narrow Cover Stitch. Springs on both the front and back allow the left and right sections to move independently, keeping stitches even over uneven fabrics. The foot features three sections Left, Center, and Right—with needle position notches (C1, C2, C3) for precise alignment. Ideal for Baby Lock cover stitch machines, it delivers professional-quality hemming on garments, quilts, and home décor projects.
Compensating Foot Basics:
The Compensating Foot is divided into three sections: left, center and right. Located on the toe of the center section are raised notches that identify the C1, C2 and C3 needle positions. The raised notches can be used as a guide when aligning the needles with either the fabric edge or markings on the fabric.

Located at both the front and back of the Compensating Foot is a set of springs. The first set is located under the metal tab at the front of the presser foot on both the left and right sections. The second set is located under the left and right sections at the back of the presser foot. These springs allow the left and right sections of the foot to move up and down managing the changes in the fabric thickness while stitching.
Front springs are located under the left and the right side of the Compensating Foot.
Back springs are located under the left and the right side of the Compensating Foot.
